GUI Client-Patient Registration (Version 2.0) for WorldVistA EHR

Short History

The original intent of the application was to have a quick, relatively simple standard graphical style front-end to input patients/clients into the VistA database. An event that impacted the programmer delayed it for a year+ and it subsequently experienced "application creep". It is important for users to know how to make, edit, and/or use input templates. I strongly recommend referring to the Fileman manuals for expert help and guidance at: http://www.hardhats.org/fileman/pm/.

WARNING:

This application has NOT been TESTED. So, be advised, loading onto a test system is ONLY recommended at this time.

Help Files: I zipped the help files alone if one wanted to review the help, tech, and installation documents before installing.
How to:
  1. Create a folder at c:\VWREG
  2. Unzip or download the help files (which are the html and png files) to c:\VWREG\[right here].
  3. You should be able to fire up the html in your preferred browser.

There is nothing sensitive in the help files, so security is not an issue.

What we don't know:
  1. Does it work in an environment other than the author's? my fingers are crossed! (I suspect there are pot-holes...)
  2. We don't know what we don't know - communication, if interested in the app, would be very helpful.
  3. The Delphi source code is not available at this time, but will be in the near future. Although,
you must sign an NLA ("NO LAUGHING" agreement) before you see the code.
  4. Version 3.0? Who knows...I don't even think the Shadow knows...Feel free to communicate with me at the below email.
What we learned:
  1. A programmer should NEVER test their own work!

And, if you decide to test the application, questions, comments, suggestions, criticism(s), and "customizations", et al, can be sent to jbellco65-"@"-gmail.com. Of feedback interest is the selection of multiple fields in Fileman as they appear and work in the GUI and data feed to the database. Be easy with those in the first go-around, as to level depth.
